Molecular typing to personalise donor donation frequency

چکیده
Blood donors can lose up to 200–250 mg of iron per whole blood donation, significantly increasing their risk deficiency and anaemia. Recovery donor stores following donation varies considerably. Using genomic DNA from donors, we have reported preliminary data for two molecular typing strategies profile genetic variants associated with metabolism storage.1,2 These studies on small numbers using next generation sequencing (NGS) a panel genes homeostasis2,3 TaqMan arrays 10 selected single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP)1 established proof-of-principle. Future work this nature must consider the advantages each tool. NGS, is more expensive time consuming both testing analysis, however, required identification significance in recovery. fast, convenient, less tool rapidly identify donor’s variant individual management. A two-stage approach would benefit future studies. First, large-scale survey techniques recovery post-donation stores. Second, rapid such as suitable tailoring frequency. References 1. Donor Hemovigilance with Blood Donation.
BACKGROUND Reports on unexpected events (UEs) during blood donation (BD) inadequately consider the role of technical UEs. METHODS Defined local and systemic UEs were graded by severity; technical UEs were not graded. On January 1, 2008, E.B.P.S.-Logistics (EBPS) installed the UE module for plasma management software (PMS). Donor room physicians entered UEs daily into PMS. Medical directors re...
متن کاملDonor sepsis is not a contraindication to cadaveric organ donation.
Systemic donor infection is regarded as being an absolute contraindication to cadaveric organ donation for transplantation. This is largely due to fear of transmitting pathogenic organisms to the immunosuppressed recipient. However, due to the current shortage of organs available for transplantation, clinicians are faced with the option of using organs from 'non-ideal' donors, such as those pat...

متن کاملDonor age is paramount to success in oocyte donation.
Several reports suggest increasing age in oocyte donors decreases the chances of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) success, while others describe no effect. The published data concerning gravidity and parity are similarly conflicting. To further address these questions, we retrospectively studied 445 consecutive donor IVF cycles at two large university-based IVF practices. Donor cycles were analysed...
